Callaway X Hot Fairway Review
Callaway has another of its trademark winners in its Callaway X Hot fairway wood models. The clubs offer both the distance and forgiveness that has made the company among the leaders on the PGA Tour.
The Callaway X Hot fairway wood has a big head but a shallow face. At 202ccs, the three-wood can easily be used as a driver, especially given the Fujikura Banzai shaft that is designed to increase swing speed, but the steel face also allows the designers to move around the discretionary weight to improve the MOI and add forgiveness and stability. That’s a result of the company’s patented S2H2 technology, which takes weight away from the club’s hosel and redistributes it to a more suitable area.
Designers also tweaked the sole to make it more usable. The X-Sole design causes the club to rest to two distinct areas, helping shots stay online and the clubhead to remain stable at address. Its low leading edge makes it very usable from tight lies and even from the rough.
The Callaway X Hot fairway wood is a three-wood, comes with a 15-degree loft in both right and left-handed models.
