Nike

Nike's latest models of fairway woods are designed to give players clubs that are weighted precisely to suit their individual game.

The company's latest offerings are the Nike SQ Dymo and the Nike Square Dymo2. The former had a rounder clubhead and the latter's is more square, but each uses similar design and technology elements to get the ball where it's supposed to go.

A lot of the appeal is evident in the name of the woods themselves. Dymo stands for Dynamic Moment of Inertia, which means that Nike weights each club to maximize the effectiveness of the loft-lie combination. Its PowerBow weighting system gets the mass of the club in a different spot for lower lofts that require a lower ball flight and less spin than in the higher lofts that demand more spin and easier launch conditions. The sole of the woods are also something special, designed to sweep through the ground and produce better contact, avoiding those bounces that lead to embarrassing shots.

Nike has become a leader in golf club manufacturing in a relatively short time. A few hits with either the Nike SQ Dymo or the Nike Square Dymo2 and you’ll soon see why that is.
