Titleist
We have placed Titleist Fairway Woods Reviews on our site for all of Titleist 2009 Fairway Wood models. Titleist has long been known as a leader in developing clubs that are Tour-worthy performers, and the Titleist fairway woods line has a couple of options that will suit most games.
The latest Titleist fairway woods are the company's 909 series. The 909F2 and 909F3 each have different features to suit a different caliber of golfer.
The Titleist 909F2 builds on the successful 906F4 model. It has a round profile, large and extended face and weighting structure geared towards generating shots with high launch and a medium amount of spin. Because it has a low center of gravity and a high MOI, it is the more forgiving of the two clubs. It's also one of the most stable clubheads available, and won't easily twist at impact. That cuts down on the slices that plague many golfers.
Ironically, one of the only fairway woods that offers greater stability is the Titleist 909F3. This series has a pear-shaped profile instead of the 909F2's round look, with a smaller and deeper face backed up by a deep center of gravity. It offers a little less forgiveness than the 909F2, but it provides better control for advanced players who demand that in their game. It also produces a flatter ball flight, with a sole that minimizes resistance and will naturally glide through the glass instead of bouncing.
Both clubs have an MSRP of $199.99.
