Titleist 909 F2 Review
The Titleist 909F2 fairway woods are high launch, mid-spin models that perform as well as the Titleist brand name would suggest.
These clubs, available in 13.5, 15.5 and 18.5 inch lofts, are constructed with a stainless steel body augmented by a 275 Carpenter Steel face insert to provide both power and feel. The lofts are half a degree higher than the Titleist 909F3 models to foster a higher launch and trajectory, augmented by the round profile of the clubhead. A SureFit Swingweight Screw installed by the factory helps matters out by positioning the center of gravity in the appropriate spot for each head-to-shaft combination.
Another key design feature is the multi-relief sole, which cuts down on the turf resistance and reduces the bounce that can be catastrophic to fairway wood shots. It helps the club sweep through the ball at impact, keeping the contact point where it should be.
The MSRP on the Titleist 909F2 fairway woods are $225 for a graphite shaft and $200 for the steel. That’s not much to pay for a large and extended clubface that can get more shots from the fairway to the green.
